San Carlos de Bariloche is located on the southern coast of the
Lago Nahuel Huapi, at 770 m.s.n.m, center of the National Park of
the same name. Bariloche is one of the most populated cities of
the Rìo Negro province (100,000 inhabitants) and one of the
most important centers of tourism in Argentina. Bariloche can be
enjoyed during all four seasons, given that it posses particular
attractions in each one.
The Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi (nahuel means tiger and huapi means
island in the indigenous Mapuche language), was created, by law,
in 1934. Due to its extraordinary landscape beauties and primordial
values in native flora and fauna, the park is subject to a special
management system that ensures its protection and conservation,
both for scientific research and the education and enjoyment of
present and future generations. |
